I was thinking Trevor Middleton. Has a nice, snooty British ring to it.Halmanatorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05633928715321475524noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5804190908625204938.post-83163325863053793702011-01-12T19:49:34.409-05:002011-01-12T19:49:34.409-05:00That's it! Arnold Schwarzenegger has arguably one of the goofiest of famous names. Yet because of his iconic body-building career, box-office success, and political legacy, people no longer give his awkward name a second thought.Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11715027640936904449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5804190908625204938.post-12611942823081441842011-01-09T12:55:43.647-05:002011-01-09T12:55:43.647-05:00Maybe the job search would be going better if my n...Maybe the job search would be going better if my name was Paul Gates, or Paul Jobs, or Paul McCartney?Tubeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07658652302966870306noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5804190908625204938.post-26397969653756269882011-01-09T10:20:18.488-05:002011-01-09T10:20:18.488-05:00Not necessarily. Lucille Le Sueur felt compelled to change her name (eventually) to Joan Crawford because her fellow Americans kept mispronouncing her last name. It could also be argued that the only reason a name like oh, say, Caspar, is because of a certain cartoon... and that likely got its inspiration from an earlier cartoon about a fellow named Caspar Milquetoast. Before that, would the name have had any such association?

On the other hand, sometimes a name is chosen to reflect the character, as in John Wayne, Cary Grant, or even Bozo the clown. The Wanderernoreply@blogger.com
